With its fine acoustics and extensive performance area, organ and piano, St Matthew's church is used regularly by choirs, orchestra ensembles, for recitals or drama.

Please contact the parish office if you are interested in holding a concert or perfomance.

A concert of readings, music and images to mark the Battle of Messines and War on the Western Front, 1917.

St Matthew's Church, King Street South, Hastings.

Adults $15, seniors and students $10

The names on our memorial cairn include parishioners who fell at Messines. 

"The New Zealanders paid a heavy price for success: by the time the New Zealand Division was withdrawn on 9 June, it had suffered 3700 casualties, 700 of them fatal."
